Description:

We are looking for a talented Sushi Roller to join our dynamic team. The Sushi Roller will be responsible for preparing sushi rolls, nigiri, and other dishes according to recipes and specifications. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced/high-volume sushi restaurant or similar environment.  Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality sushi are essential for success in this role. 

This role requires precision, speed, and pride in presentation. Rollers often serve directly in front of guests, so friendliness and professionalism matter just as much as technique.

Must possess excellent punctuality, with the ability to arrive at their designated post on time, ready to work.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Prepare sushi rolls, poke bowls, and related items with accuracy and speed.
• Maintain a clean cutting board, tools, and station throughout service.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of service stations
• Restock ingredients and assist with prep.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and supporting staff to ensure timely service
• Support team with dishwashing, sweeping, and mopping as needed.
• Assist on the cook line when short-staffed.
• Follow food safety and sanitation practices.
• Assist with putting away products, refilling sauces and restocking supplies as needed.
• May be required to pick up product from the commercial kitchen, transport it to the designated work location, and return any remaining product at the end of the shift. 
• Responsible for arriving promptly for all scheduled shifts

Requirements:

• At least one year of previous experience as a Sushi Roller or similar role
• Will train the right candidate with significant food service experience 
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
• Must be dependable, punctual and have reliable transportation

Work Environment: Requires ability to stand/walk for 8-12 hour shifts; ability in lifting, carrying, and maneuvering materials weighing 30+ lbs regularly; Skilled in bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in demanding environments while adhering to safety protocols.

Event Staff are the friendly face of Kazoku Sushi at catered events, hospitals, and stadiums. They may cashier, serve food, or assist on the line depending on staffing needs. This flexible role requires great hospitality and teamwork.
